Cinnamon Apple Crisp Bars

Move over apple pie, these easy to make Apple Crisp Bars have a buttery shortbread cookie base, apple pie filling and a cinnamon streusel top! This recipe is Egg Free and Vegetarian. 

How to make Cinnamon apple crisp bars

Make the crust and streusel by mixing all purpose flour, ground cinnamon, light brown sugar and melted butter together in a medium bowl until crumbly.

Set a portion of the dough aside for the streusel. Press the remaining dough into the bottom of the pan. Bake the crust.

Make the apple filling: peel, core and slice the fresh apples thin, about 1/8 inch thick. Cook the apple slices. 

Remove the crust from the oven and add the apple filling. Sprinkle the streusel and bake until golden.
