Sweet Tea Prosecco Cocktails

A refreshing honey sweetened iced tea served up with vodka or gin, a hint of orange liqueur, lemon juice and finished with bubbly Prosecco. This Prosecco and vodka cocktail is make ahead easy for one or more! | If making for 5 servings, steep tea in a large (32oz / 1L) lidded Mason jar. For one, an 8oz / .5L lidded jar.

Ingredients

For One Cocktail:

  • 1 Bag of Black Tea or 1 Tbs loose black tea - I like Earl Grey
  • 3 oz (85g) Water just under boiling
  • 2-3 tsp Honey or simple syrup - adjust to taste
  • 1 oz (28g) Vodka or Gin
  • 1/2 oz (14g) Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 oz (14g) Lemon Juice
  • Prosecco for topping - one bottle will be plenty dry or demi-sec not brut
  • Lemon Wheel for garnish

For Five Cocktails:

  • 5 Bags of Black Tea or 5 Tbs loose tea leaves - I like Earl Grey
  • 2 C (453g) Water just under boiling
  • 4 Tbs Honey or simple syrup - adjust to taste
  • 2/3 C (142g) Vodka or Gin
  • 1/4 C (70g) Grand Marnier
  • 1/4 C (70) Lemon Juice
  • Prosecco for topping - one bottle will be plenty dry or demi-sec not brut
  • Lemon Wheel for garnish

Instructions

  • In a lidded Mason jar, add the tea bag or tea leaves and pour the water over the tea. Stir in the honey or simple syrup. Steep for 10 minutes, then remove the tea bag (or strain the tea) and store it in the refrigerator to cool for at least 30 minutes. The tea can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
  • To the jar, pour in the vodka or gin, Grand Mariner, and lemon juice. Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours until ready to share.
  • To serve, pack a low ball or Mason jar with ice. Pour the tea mixture over the ice, garnish with a lemon wheel then top with Prosecco. Stir and enjoy!
