Dip, dollop or spread, Avocado Cream Sauce (avocado crema) is a versatile condiment that can be whipped up in about 5 minutes. This creamy avocado sauce is a tasty spread or topping on tacos or burritos, on sandwiches or as a dip for chips or veggies. This recipe is vegetarian, gluten free and easily vegan. This recipe yields about 1 1/4 cup (305 grams)
In the work bowl of a food processor fitted with the S blade, add the avocado, sour cream, jalapeño rings, cilantro, lime juice and salt. If you're feeling spicy, add a 1/2 teaspoon of pickled jalapeño pepper brine.
Process the ingredients until creamy and smooth, stopping to scrape down bowl at least once. Taste for salt adjustment and add another 1/8th teaspoon if needed.
To thin your sauce, add a few tablespoons of water with the processor running. Thin to desired consistency.
Transfer to a bowl and serve or to a lidded container. Store in the refrigerator for up to three days.
