5-Minute Avocado Cream Sauce Recipe

Dip, dollop or spread, Avocado Cream Sauce (avocado crema) is a versatile condiment that can be whipped up in about 5 minutes. This creamy avocado sauce is a tasty spread or topping on tacos or burritos, on sandwiches or as a dip for chips or veggies. This recipe is vegetarian, gluten free and easily vegan.

Ingredients

  • 1 (275 grams) Ripe Avocado sliced in half, skin/pit removed, about one medium
  • 1/2 cup (80 grams) Sour Cream
  • 3 - 5 Pickled Jalapeño Rings to taste
  • 6 sprigs Cilantro bottom ends trimmed
  • 3 teaspoons Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/4 + 1/8 teaspoon Fine Sea Salt
  • 2 - 4 tablespoons Water as needed

Instructions

  • In the work bowl of a food processor fitted with the S blade, add the avocado, sour cream, jalapeño rings, cilantro, lime juice and salt. If you're feeling spicy, add a 1/2 teaspoon of pickled jalapeño pepper brine.
  • Process the ingredients until creamy and smooth, stopping to scrape down bowl at least once. Taste for salt adjustment and add another 1/8th teaspoon if needed.
  • To thin your sauce, add a few tablespoons of water with the processor running. Thin to desired consistency.
  • Transfer to a bowl and serve or to a lidded container. Store in the refrigerator for up to three days.
