Vegan Nog Smoothie is rich and tastes so much like the real thing! Healthy, smooth, creamy and ready for your holiday table, boozy or not.
I’ve one last recipe to share with y’all before Christmas. I recently discovered this and just had to pass it along!
I continue to be impressed and inspired by what cashews can be transformed into. Not only are they delicious and nutritions just as they are, but also they can be toasted, seasoned, chopped and used in all kinds of recipes, whipped up into ice cream, milk and now this….. THIS!
When I first tried vegan nog, I was hooked and so excited I’d discovered an alternative to traditional eggnog. Not that I don’t like traditional eggnog, I love eggnog. I love how creamy it is with all the holiday spices, the sweetness, I adore it in my lattes, french toast, with booze… you name it. But I’m always looking for ways to incorporate more plant based foods into my diet, and this is just my latest.
It never occurred to me I could enjoy eggnog so close to the original in dairy and egg free form. Now I know.
Y’all, this is creamy, rich, smooth, with loads of vanilla (1/2 a bean pod!), cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. It is naturally sweetened with bananas, dates and maple syrup and it’s healthy too, feeding your body and soul.
Enjoy vegan nog with a bit of rum or bourbon (I used light rum) or not. It is quite nice either way!
Here’s a toast to y’all with much gratitude. Thank you for reading Vanilla And Bean, for coming regularly and sharing your insight, wisdom, and exuberant enthusiasm for good food. I really didn’t know what this little corner of the blogosphere would turn into, or really where it’s going, but the journey has been so inspiring, and exciting!
All my best to you and yours and wishing y’all a peaceful and beautiful holiday season.

Thank you, loved this as a smoothie! I added some protein powder. Made it twice already. The second time I halved the syrup and it was fine. Also 2nd time I used a bit of turmeric root instead of powder. Not sure home much lemon juice that is so I’d say a teaspoon?
So happy to hear Dru! Thank you for sharing your tips and giving this smoothie a go!
This vegan-nog smoothie looks amazing! Love it! This such a great recipe idea, Traci! :D
Thanks Jess! I hope you enjoy it! :D
I love eggnog but have never made it, let alone a vegan variety. I’m super intrigued and willing to try anything especially because it looks so delicious. :)
I wish you a happy and healthy 2015, Traci!
This egg nog smoothie is right up my alley – it looks absolutely delicious :) I can’t wait to try it – I’m renaming it the superfood holiday smoothie due to all the GOODNESS in it (hello hemp hearts!!) Hope you’re enjoying a wonderful holiday season and Happy 2015!!
Pinned!
I’ve always been a little skeptical of egg nog – too eggy for me. So this looks like a wonderful, healthy, tasty alternative. I’ll definitely be adding the rum :). Great pictures (as always). Happy New Year, Traci!!
Thank you, Geraldine! Wishing you a fabulous New Year!
I’ve never tried vegan nog Traci! But I love making vegan ice-cream with cashews! Love the idea of nog smoothie! Pinned! I hope you had a great Christmas ! Have a fun NYE!
Me too Mira! Cashew ice cream is the best.. and unbelievably smooth and creamy; like this nog. In fact this could be churned! :D You have a wonderful NYE too! Thank you for your pin!
I am an eggnog addict! I start buying it up as soon as I see it in the store and can’t get enough! I mean, why on earth do they only sell it a few months out of the year?! That is just craziness to me! I think you have given me a great solution to that problem with this recipe though! I might just be making this eggnog well into the summer :) I love that you made it vegan too, for some reason that makes me think I can drink more of it, haha! I’m pretty amazed by everything that cashews can do too, they are awesome! I hope you guys had an awesome Christmas, Traci!!
Oh my goodness, this looks amazing! Now I can share the eggnog joy with my vegan friends!
Oh thats a great feeling! Cheers! :D
Gorgeous and yum! I love this, have never been a huge fan of drinking eggs, but I just know this eggnog will be great! Merry Christmas to you and Rob!
Thanks so much Deb! No more drinking eggs for you! Problem solved! :D
Love! Thanks for sharing the holiday cheer!
My pleasure Danielle! Thank you for stopping by! :D
Merry Christmas Traci! This Eggnog is brilliant. I am going to share this with everyone.
Thanks for your share Julie!! :D
This is basically perfect for Christmas morning.. rowdy, eh? But a great way to get in some real live foods AND a bit of holiday erm, cheer. Definitely more creative than the mimosa! It makes total sense that you could turn the traditional eggnog into a vegan smoothie.. it’s definitely not the raw eggs giving it its classic flavor anyway! I can’t wait to try this Traci!!
Rowdy with the booze! YESsssss! I agree, not the eggs… rather it’s the spices! Thanks Cheryl! :D
Oh I just LOVE that gif!! I like eggnog, too, but absolutely love the idea of making it a little more healthy and plant-based! Pinned and excited to try! Happy holidays, Traci. Hope you have a great few days.
Oh, Sarah! Thank you for your pin! Happy holidays to you too! :D
